Overview
We are seeking an experienced Tunnel Project Manager / Tunnel Engineer to join a major metro infrastructure project. The ideal candidate will be French-speaking, technically strong, and possess proven experience in tunnel design as well as formal professional registration. This role offers the opportunity to work on a complex, high-profile underground transportation system within a multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities

Lead and manage tunnel engineering activities across design, planning, and construction phases of a major metro project.

Oversee design development for tunnels, underground stations, and related structures, ensuring compliance with project specifications and regional standards.

Conduct detailed technical reviews, evaluate design submissions, and provide expert engineering guidance.

Coordinate with contractors, designers, and client representatives to resolve technical challenges and optimise design solutions.

Manage project schedules, risks, and deliverables, ensuring quality and safety objectives are met.

Prepare technical reports, review calculations, and participate in design and progress meetings.

Provide on-site technical support when required and contribute to construction oversight.

Communicate effectively in French with project stakeholders, authorities, and multidisciplinary teams.
Requirements

Professional registration (e.g., Chartered Engineer or equivalent recognised certification).

Proven background in tunnel design within metro, rail, or major underground infrastructure projects.

Strong technical knowledge of geotechnics, tunnel excavation methods (e.g., TBM, NATM), ground support systems, and underground construction techniques.

Fluent French language skills (written and spoken) essential.

Experience working as a Project Manager or Senior Engineer on complex tunnel works.

Ability to manage multidisciplinary engineering interfaces and resolve design issues efficiently.

Degree in Civil Engineering, Geotechnical Engineering, or a related field; postgraduate qualifications an advantage.
