About the Role
My client a specialist engineering consultancy is seeking an experienced Senior Project Engineer to support the successful delivery of major transit and infrastructure projects. Acting as a key technical leader within the project team, you will provide engineering oversight throughout the project lifecycle, ensuring that design, construction, commercial, and operational requirements are fully integrated and aligned with client objectives.
This role requires close collaboration with clients, consultants, contractors, regulatory authorities, and internal stakeholders to ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently, and in compliance with all applicable standards and contractual requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Engineering & Technical Leadership
- Review and validate design submissions, technical reports, calculations, and engineering deliverables to ensure compliance with project requirements, applicable codes, and industry standards.
- Provide technical leadership and guidance to multidisciplinary project teams, ensuring constructability, safety, operational performance, maintainability, and lifecycle considerations are incorporated into design decisions.
- Monitor engineering progress and performance, proactively identifying risks and implementing mitigation measures to maintain project schedules and budgets.
- Coordinate technical reviews, design changes, Requests for Information (RFIs), and engineering clarifications to facilitate timely resolution of project issues.
- Provide engineering support during construction, including site inspections, technical issue resolution, and verification of contractor works.

Qualifications & Experience
Education
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems Engineering, or a related discipline).
Professional Qualifications
- Professional Engineer (P.Eng.)
Experience
- Minimum 10 years of engineering experience delivering major infrastructure, transportation, or transit projects.
- Strong understanding of Light Rail Transit (LRT) and rail systems, including civil
