Hydropower and Dam Project Manager

Overview

We are seeking an experienced Project Manager with a strong background in hydropower and dam design and construction to lead multidisciplinary infrastructure projects across Scandinavia, Africa, and Asia. This is an exciting opportunity for a motivated professional who is open to undertaking short overseas assignments and eager to work on impactful, industry-leading renewable energy developments.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, design, and execution of hydropower and dam projects from concept through commissioning.

• Oversee multidisciplinary engineering teams and coordinate with contractors, consultants, and local stakeholders.

• Ensure that project deliverables meet technical, environmental, and regulatory requirements.

• Manage project schedules, budgets, risk assessments, and quality assurance processes.

• Conduct site visits and short-term assignments across international project locations.

• Report project progress to senior leadership and maintain strong client relationships.

• Promote and ensure adherence to the highest standards of safety, sustainability, and ethical practice.

Requirements

• Proven experience in hydropower and dam design and construction.

• Strong project management skills with a track record of delivering complex infrastructure projects.

• Ability and willingness to travel internationally for short stints as required.

• Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder-management skills.

• Degree in Civil Engineering, Hydro Engineering, Water Resources, or related field (advanced degrees advantageous).

• Familiarity with international engineering standards and working in multicultural environments.
