Expat Resident Engineer – Night Shift (RCC Dam Project)
About the Role
Key Responsibilities
Construction Supervision
-
Supervise all night shift RCC dam construction activities, including placement, compaction, curing, and joint treatment.

Ensure works are executed in accordance with approved drawings, technical specifications, method statements, and international dam engineering standards.

Monitor contractor performance and workmanship during night operations.
Quality Assurance & Control

Ensure strict implementation of QA/QC procedures for RCC production, transportation, placement, and compaction.

Review and verify night shift inspection reports, test results, and site records.

Identify defects or non-conformities and ensure timely corrective actions.
Coordination & Reporting

Coordinate with day shift engineers to ensure continuity of work and proper handover between shifts.

Liaise with contractors, laboratory staff, survey teams, and safety personnel during night operations.

Prepare detailed night shift progress reports, including productivity, issues, and recommendations.
Safety & Environmental Compliance

Enforce site HSE rules, safety plans, and environmental management procedures during night works.

Ensure adequate lighting, safe access, and emergency preparedness on site.

Immediately report and manage incidents, near misses, or unsafe conditions.
Technical Oversight

Provide on-site technical guidance and resolve construction-related issues during night shift.

Review construction sequences and ensure proper interface between RCC works, foundation treatment, and embedded items.

Assist in assessing construction risks related to night operations.
Qualifications & Experience
Education
-
Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering (mandatory)

Master’s degree in Dam Engineering or Structural Engineering (preferred)
Experience
-
Minimum 20 years of overall professional experience on large civil engineering projects
-
At least 10 years of direct experience on dam projects, preferably RCC dams
-
Proven experience as a Resident Engineer, Construction Engineer, or Senior Site Engineer on large-scale hydro or dam projects
-
Experience working on night shifts and in remote project locations is highly desirable
