An international engineering consultancy is looking to recruit a Project Engineer / Diver based out of their New York office. 

Key Responsibilities include but are not limited to

 

  • Assist the Project Manager to complete the scope of work, and deliver the contracted deliverables;
  • Work collaboratively with all members of the engineering dive group;
  • Analyze deteriorated components, assess remaining capacities;
  • Solve engineering problems and challenges;
  • Partner with other professionals and departments to gather information for projects;
  • Lead the preparation of rehabilitation plans, designs, calculations and cost estimates under the supervision of more experienced engineers;
  • Work collaboratively with members of all company disciplines, to include Structural, Coastal, Geotechnical, CAD, etc.;
  • Effectively communicate (phone, e-mail, in-person) between client, client's representative, engineering team, Project Manager, and/or Client Manager;
  • Assist in the development of rehabilitation and/or new structure design packages for marine  structures, ports, harbors, and marine terminals;
  • Prepare standard documents, such as technical specifications;
  • Prepare engineering reports, marine construction cost estimates, and other technical documents; and
  • Perform other duties as required.

 

Qualifications and Skills Required

 

  • Ability and willingness to travel as required by project locations;
  • BS degree or higher in engineering, preferably civil;
  • Minimum of 5 years of previous related experience;
  • PE License or ability to obtain;
  • OSHA compliant commercial dive training, ADCI card, international dive certification, or surface supplied dive training from a commercial or military program;
  • Ability and willingness to learn;
  • Ability to lead and work effectively as part of a team;
  • Strong attention to detail;
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills including the proficient use of Office tools

    (Word, Excel, and Power Point);

  • Self-motivated, flexible, and able to handle multiple tasks in a fast-paced work environment; 
  • Good planning, organizational and time management skills.
